I have already removed the old grille, which will also be replaced with a new damper similar to the one in the dining room. The room is still a bit dusty from the work in the dining room.

The last view of the room, and up the stairs. I have just started removing some of the peeling paint.
There was even more loose paint in the living room than the dining room.
I will be replacing these switches. Notice that the switches were originally brown. I'm not sure if a previous painter was just sloppy, or if they were deliberately trying to paint them white.
Living room after the painting. You can see that the stairway is next to be painted. Also, I still need to paint the closet door. Next in line for upgrades is the floor and then the furniture. Even if I replace the entertainment center electronics, the speakers (home-built many years ago) need new grilles.
